The Lida Method (Daily vs. Monthly)
Understand the philosophy behind Lida and stop carrying endless lists.
The biggest trap of modern productivity is the "endless list". Traditional apps allow you to accumulate hundreds of overdue tasks on a single screen, generating anxiety and paralysis.
Lida was built on a minimalist and pragmatic philosophy: The clear separation between execution (The Today) and the map (The Month).
To achieve this, we split the app into two main views: the Daily Log and the Monthly Log.
☀️ Daily Log (Execution)
The Daily Log is your practical focus area. It shows only what matters today.
If you scheduled a task for the current day, it will appear here. The goal of the Daily Log is simple: fill the progress bar before the day ends.
- Absolute Focus: You won't see tasks for tomorrow or next week. This protects your cognitive load and prevents distractions.
- Morning Tip: When opening the app in the morning, you will receive an AI-generated Insight, offering strategic suggestions for the day.
- Evening Wrap-up: At the end of the day, Lida's AI analyzes what you completed and what you left behind, offering an Insight to close your day in peace.
🗓️ Monthly Log (The Map)
The Monthly Log is your strategic vision. This is where you plan for the future and deal with structural backlogs.
Note
- Monthly Focus: At the top of the Monthly Log, you should define your intention for the month (e.g., "Launch the MVP and spend more time with the family"). The AI will use this to audit your decisions in weekly reviews.
- Macro Vision: Here you see all long-term tasks, goals, shopping lists, and trails grouped by
#tags.
🔄 The Magic of the Month Turn (Migration)
The true power of the Lida Method happens on the last day of the month. We do not automatically move your overdue tasks to the next month. We force you to make a conscious decision.
When the month turns, the tasks you haven't completed enter a "Pending" state. You must access the Migration screen and choose the destination for each item:
- Migrate: "This is still important, I will try to do it next month."
- Replicate: "This task was completed, but it will happen again next month."
- Cancel: The most liberating action. If a task has been dragged along for three consecutive months, be honest with yourself: you probably won't do it. Cancel it without guilt.
This intentional friction ensures your Lida never becomes a graveyard of good intentions.
We often add things to our lists that don't really fit into our routine, simply because we consider them important — as a way to motivate ourselves to start. Whether it's a sport, a hobby, or saving a monthly amount, the presence of activities that aren't yet incorporated into our routine must be handled strategically. Otherwise, they turn into a reminder of failures before they've even begun.
That is why Lida makes you reflect before moving forward.
